We love the woods and we love creating the tools we need, thats why Bear Blades was formed. We wanted an everyday solid, cost effective knife, sharp and robust that was a pleasure to use in the wild places we visit.

Fast forward 5 years we come along way but our bushcraft knives still follow the same fundamental core principals. We make Bushcraft Knives that are meant to be used and have been tested by Bushcraft Instructors throughout the UK and beyond.

All our bushcraft knives are hand made and each one has to pass our independent quality control before it gets sent out the workshop ready for packaging.

We use premium grade leather for all our sheaths, so you know it will last.

The Blade

01 steel is an air hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel; it has wear and abrasion resistant properties. Our Knives take and hold an edge very, very, very well. Use mineral oil to clean and maintain the steel.

the handle

Walnut is strong, hard and durable, without being excessively heavy. We take straight grained wood from the trunk and wavy grain from near the roots. Use mineral oil to clean and maintain the wood

the sheath

we use high quality 3mm (or thicker) leather for our sheaths; our current design is by Simon Hardie of Ashdown Forest Crafts. All knives are supplied with a belt sheath as standard. Use neatsfoot oil to clean and maintain the leather.
